Strong sleek arms and abs workout

I don’t know about you, but I’m all about that #onlyonetrip life. A mug of tea, phone, laptop, plate, and glass of water? Technology and liquids- probably not a good idea, but I’ll make it work. 6 bags of groceries (probably mostly jars of nut butter, hehe)? Load me up. A couch, a TV, and a small child? Challenge accepted.

Okay, so maybe the last one was a stretch 😉 .

The point is, I’m all for efficiency, so there’s no way I’m taking two or more trips (hmm…not sure if this makes me lazy or an over achiever…). In order to do this without dropping everything in a catastrophic mess or killing myself, I need a strong upper body and core. See, there’s more to fitness than ascetics. You’ve gotta build strength to carry all your food, duh!

*Try to move as quickly as you can between each exercise to keep the intensity up. If needed, take a quick rest between groups.

**Make sure you are using as heavy a weight as you can for each exercise. The last 2-3 reps should be difficult to complete with proper form.

***Be sure to do some type of dynamics and cardio warm-up (such as the one below) before your workout.

****Also remember to cool down and stretch for 5-10 after your workout.

Exercise Demos:

Chest Presses

Upright Rows

Circle Crunches

Shoulder Presses

Tricep Dips

Reverse Flys

Hammer Curls

Lateral+Front Raises

Lateral Pulses (Hold you arms out straight into a “T” and do small, controlled pulses)


And just in case you’re not sure what to do, I’ve included this quick cardio and dynamics warm-up. You can also save this warm-up to do before any other workout whether that be a run, Pilates, HIIT, etc.

Exercise Demos:

Boxer Shuffle

Slow Butt Kick+Arm Swings (Shuffle side-to-side, kicking one foot at a time up to kick your butt and simultaneously swing your arms across your chest, making sure to get a full range of motion and alternate which crosses on top.)

1, 2, 3 Twists+Knee (Do three twists, bringing one knee up and across your body for the third twist. Be sure a different knee is coming up and across each time.)


Dancing Dogs (Fluidly flow from upward facing dog to downward dog.)

Butt Kicks

Jumping Jacks

Fly Jacks

Front Jacks
